About Us
BRUK began its activities in 1997, shortly after the graduation of its founder and sole shareholder, Marco Aurelio Branco Goncalves, in civil engineering at the University of Brasilia (UnB), at the capital of Brazil.
Since its foundation, efforts are being made to boost the urban waste treatment sector, through: the direct participation of its founder in Councils (CONAMA and CONAM-DF) that promoted advances in environmental legislation, conducting research and technical cooperation with important Universities, and conducting a Joint Venture with a multinational company of Dutch origin, VAR (Veluwse Afval Recycling), when the Dutch concept of “Recycling Centre” was developed and adapted to the local circumstances of 10 (ten) Brazilian metropolitan regions.
All these factors were fundamental to allow the success in the execution of different urban waste treatment projects developed over the last 25 years using sustainable and viable technologies. Many of them have become a reference at national level and generated social, environmental and economic benefits in the regions where each project was developed.

BRUK’ s business vision is the result of a long history of a learning process, and ideas exchange together with representatives of important national and international entities from various sectors (business, academic and NGOs) of our society, bringing us the ability to respond quickly to challenges, always prioritizing the adoption of innovative, rational and creative solutions, that promote social inclusion, environmental preservation and economic growth of the region where each project is developed.
We build trustful relationships with partners who have a long history of achievements, what have made them national or international references in promoting the sustainable development of our society.

Corporate Vision
BRUK is a shareholder in operational engineering companies, through which urban waste treatment and public cleaning services are provided, as well it is executed sanitation infrastructure works and buildings construction.
The success achieved by the companies which BRUK has a direct and/or indirect participation, during the implementation, operation and maintenance services of large industrial waste treatment plants, proves that is technically and economically feasible future developments on similar projects in Brazil, and also in others developing countries where household waste is also collected totally mixed (undifferentiated collection), a reality that will surely remain for many years (or decades).
Based on our track record of 25 years executing important projects at national level in Brazil, we developed the know-how and know who (= network), and also the technical and operational experience to continue to promote the “green revolution” in the urban waste management and treatment sector, together with partners who share the same vision, values, and goals.
